Although the weather outside doesn't feel like spring at all, inside the house, changes are taking place.

Last week, Santos Flores & crew came to paint the kitchen, dining room, living room, hallway and upstairs landing, and front porch. All areas were either chipping, smudged or sloppily painted in the first place. Now we have a glorious white porch, a warm yellow living room (repainted in the same color as before), a bluish gray dining room, a medium gray kitchen and a warm white hallway. It's amazing what paint can do to make a house look new again.

The painting days, Monday and Tuesday, were even more eventful because Julia came down with a virus Saturday night which turned into a fever and vomiting on Sunday (luckily she had a long enough spell of feeling well to hunt for eggs and go to church), so she stayed home from school those same two days in the midst of the chaos.

This week, Titi Dulce's brother Pedro & his crew are coming to replace the hideous brown vinyl kitchen floor with a nice light grey tile, put in a blue & white tile backsplash behind the stove, and hopefully replace the cracking brown shutters on the windows with black ones.

With luck, it will all be done in time for Julia's 3rd birthday party on Sunday. And not a moment too soon for our checkbook.
