9/11 + 10

Every September 11, we look back and relive the day: the pictures of the burning towers, the terrorists' names, the number of the dead.

Where we were and what we felt how terrible, horrible, empty no words.

I have a better idea.

Why don't we remember instead what it was like on September 12? And 9/13 and 9/14 and 9/15?

When we came together, felt united, stopped political pettiness, tried to be kind to one another, pulled our loved ones closer?

We don't honor the past by reliving it.

We do that by creating a future that is better.

What have you done today to bring more kindness into the world?

What will you do tomorrow?
