New Year, the Korean version
This year, on New Year's Day, Ken's Korean side of the family all got together at his aunt and uncle's house for a traditional ceremony to celebrate seollal, where children of all ages pay respect to their elders by bowing, or sebae. In return, they receive gifts of money. (And what's not to like about that?) All of the female members of the family wore the traditional hanbok dresses--so Julia and I felt like Korean princesses for a few hours, even if I'm only Korean by marriage!
